Associated International Chairs
Objective: developing large-scale projects on the Bordeaux site in terms of research, innovation and knowledge/technology transfer, through projects led by internationally renowned academics carrying out their main work abroad and wishing to develop new activities in the research and training units or in innovation facilities in Bordeaux.
Priority is given to two types of initiatives:
- In the field of training and knowledge transfer, ambitious projects led by prominent personalities, liable to enhance the international profile of the Bordeaux site's training offer and its attractiveness for students and researchers.
- In the field of research, innovation and technology transfer, the consolidation of collaborative projects on the Bordeaux site through the set-up of international teams liable to contribute to the emergence of a new field of research and attract external funding, in particular from Europe, for the development of high added value activities.
Priority is given to projects falling within IdEx Bordeaux' scientific priorities (including in training and innovation).
Multi-year contracts are set up in the aim of securing long-term collaboration. The main employer is the institution of origin, which must be informed and give its approval for the collaboration to be established. It must also approve the schedule of visits and contract terms.
Within the scope of this program, IdEx Bordeaux contributes to the remuneration (or its equivalent) of the Chair holder (according to the periods of effective presence on the site), as well as travel and/or operating expenses.
Submission of application
Applications must be submitted by a research, training or innovation entity (IRT, IHU, ITE, training platforms, etc.) of a partner institution of IdEx Bordeaux, which will need to substantiate the interest of the project within the policy of the site in general, and within the policy of IdEx Bordeaux in particular, as well as its medium and long-terms prospects. To this effect, a letter of intent from the Director of the host entity must be uploaded on the website (under "Submission of application"), along with the CV of the proposed Chair holder.
As a very small number of opportunities are offered, the standard required to apply for this support is extremely high.
