Programs connected to their environment
The collaboration between universities, organizations and enterprises are crucial for opening and broadening training programs. The activation of networks of trade, expertise, and knowledge allows for the flow of skills and knowledge that is necessary to link local and the global communities. This collaboration is a way to ensure the relevance of the training programs in regard to the skills targeted, and provides students with the means to understand the application of the knowledge gained in a real-world context.
Anchored in the research
The anchoring of all university courses in research will be reinforced, including within the licensing cycle, to ensure that they are in tune with recent research results and knowledge under construction; to contribute to the development of generic skills related to research (methodology, critical thinking, creativity, etc.); and to promote a culture of scientific integrity.
Articulation with the socio-economic world
The link with the socio-economic world and the involvement of companies in the licensing cycle has often been insufficient, whether for the design of training courses or their implementation. The NewDeal project will reinforce the level of collaboration with the development of the new curricula to guarantee the relevance of the transversal and generic skills targeted from the point of view of employability . This articulation also aims to reinforce the implementation of practical and operational lessons. Certifications of competence blocks will be proposed to address the increasing internationalisation of undergraduate training.
Integration of societal issues
The transmission of a humanistic and scientific culture is one of the historical identity markers of higher education. UB has to respond to new societal challenges in a complex and changing world (aging, precariousness, sustainable development, robotization, digital technology, new fanaticism ...). As soon as the license is granted, the new curricula offered will allow for the creation of thematic and interdisciplinary programs, making it possible to provide a first response to these problems. These programs are designed to strengthen the long-term employability of students by acquiring methodological and conceptual tools and the ability to select and mobilise information relevant to the understanding and dealing with a problem. They will also enable different audiences (especially FTLV) to update or broaden their knowledge, carry out vocational retraining projects or enroll their training in an alternative or complementary perspective to the traditional curricula.
